Shorts? What kind of shorts should I expect? I want something very cheap but well worth the money.
I think in general, the quality will be allowed. It's not like you can buy at Wal-Mart!
I just want to go and nashbar.com performancebike.com and compare what they sell next.
You can also check your local bike store prices. If they are not much more than the substance online, go with them. It is always better to support local businesses!
I found the shorts less expensive (50-75 dollars) do not last very long and elastic in the legs wears ...
I invested in the bibs 125-150 dollars and they last much longer and are more comfortable.
I like Pearl Izumi and Descente. Louis Garneau are OK, but not my favorite.
I've been lucky lately with the nashbars ranging from $ 59, I think the regular price. You may be able to get the sale, sign up for their newsletter.
I used the expensive brands - Downhill, Pearl, LG, Castelli, never even Nike. The nashbars are clearer, not all armor and fancy high-tech fabrics, but who cares, it's just lycra, and they form and hold well.
Advice: buy a pair, Ride 'em, see if you like. If yes, immediately buy two more pairs - because nashbar buys the lowest bidder, next week, they may have a slightly different model. then rotate / rotation pairs you drive to avoid exhausting too fast.
The ones I'm riding now lasted 2.5 years difficult - I mean of 3-4 revolutions per week, over 125 miles most weeks, I ride in all weather conditions (including the Texas heat) and AMOUT just make off-road. They last fine, the clip is a good place, and I expect they bear through the lycra on the inner thighs, as all my other shorts do.
