Did you know any fashionable casual business was started by an oil crisis? It's true. Back in the '70s, we went into one of the first real shortages of oil and OPEC has become a household name. Pants are ok as they are full length and not denim. For men it's a collared shirt, slacks, belt and shoes with socks. The shirt must be tucked into pants and jeans can be.

Now understand that the American University is located near Embassy Row in Washington DC so that their idea of casual is a little more formal than that of firms in Los Angeles. The bottom line is the company set the standard, but in almost all cases, regardless of the restrictions at work in casual dress is so much nicer than the dress. Thank you for OPEC.
