But everybody has jeans they wear and love. They are comfortable, durable, and follow the fashion trends as much as women's shoes. Many offices now even allow jeans in the context of their work clothes, something that would have been inconceivable when jeans began to be popular. In fact, during the 1950s, restaurants and movie theaters refused to admit guests wearing jeans.
Jeans are not always fashionable as they are today. In fact, they were originally used as a sturdy trousers worn by men and women in factories during the Second World War. In the 1950s, however, adolescents began to wear jeans as a form of rebellion against conformity, and by the 1970s, jeans are a staple of fashion wardrobes. It could be that, as fashion grows, people wear jeans years from now will not be recognized by people as what we know as "jeans".
