Newsletter February 2009 Krabi
Hello again and thank you all for the rest of this fishery in the series Thailand. As I write this letter, I am in the United Kingdom to attend the fairs fishing, meeting old friends, getting drunk and freezing my balls, and Thailand the heatwave continues. I'm sitting here with human influenza, have pity on me and counting the days until I can return to paradise. In Krabi temperatures are at their highest level ever recorded. The creek that skirts the lake is actually dry for the first time in memory - nobody in our village has never seen this series of rivers dry, the experiences of southern Thailand's warmest on record February. The jungle around us has changed its usual green to brown. Fortunately, we have seven natural springs that feed the lake, and although they are very slow, they slow down the lake fell to historically low levels. We are pumping water into the lake of our wells and a door next spring, but with all my colleagues garden watering gardens of seven acres daily, we are a lost battle. Even George, the turtle has trouble, it can not be bothered walking shadow over the summit of the hill to the lake the other day we took a little water for him, and he actually had 3? Liters of water without stopping, as Sean with his Singha beer! About George, he was racing with jogging fishing guide John. This is not just a competition even if, as George wins every time! Sean, Kevin and Gollock benefited from a slowdown in customers to build a rock barrier on the side bungalow on the lake to stop erosion, and gardeners have filled in the rocks and replant vines, so these push boulders get hidden. In fact, plants grow faster than old John works!
It is strange; arapaima these fish are curious. Each day, the guys working on the stones blocking arapaima motionless behind observe the procedure. Headphones our dog thinks it is all put on just for his entertainment, so he throws himself on the arapaima, the explosion of water, and they come back for more, as if it were a game S ' they wanted, they certainly could kill with one shot back. The arapaima were slow food this month, they hate the hot conditions, but each time a little wind and the clouds came rain or showers, they had a lot of short supply. The fish-tailed cat has also been slow because of this month shed their skin to make room for new growth. I wish I could do the same thing that I continue to grow, but I have to buy new skins! As the heat continues the life of birds appears that all the surrounding waters to dry up. We seem to have an abundance of water birds fishing here, double the amount of the cave swallows come to drink, and some days the air was black with them. These are birds that make nests with their saliva, making it the Bird's Nest soup famous, the next time you tuck into your spittoon soup, keep in mind it has been done and Thank Gillham whatever fish poo! Speaking of our swallows Chao Phraya catfish have sussed a readily available food source, lurking just below the surface, aligning a swallow entering, and then wham, a burst of water is no longer Mr. Swallow! I thought to connect a few swallows imitation - imagine casting those of the Chao Phraya River, it would be exciting!
We also had an increase of hummingbirds that visit our flowers, which are booming due to the continuous watering of the gardener. Our top pool that overlooks the jungle is being.
