Top 10 Wii GamesXBOX 360 and PS3 Fail Big Time?

http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/96355

PS3 loses three billion dollars for Sony so far
Xbox 360 loses 1.9 billion dollars last year

Will they make systems for the next even with fees and underwriting services that they still used to make money if they sell them for less than what they really cost?

Nintendo was smart to go instead of power and expensive parts they'll do for fun and profit potential of $ 13 for each system in Japan, $ 49 U.S. and $ 74 in Europe and Above that they always get money games they do themselves.

What you say about Nintendo is true, but have you considered how many games Nintendo makes a year? Maybe 5-10. And how this will help Nintendo if Sony and Microsoft did less than many games and a 2nd and 3rd party support, Nintendo is sorely lacking. All times are going great games the PS3 and 360 games of shit simply go to the Wii.

Sony and Microsoft royalties from the three parties, and that these two companies have so many games 3rd party, they get a lot of royalties. The Wii is not that many third party games, it's not going to get this property from 3rd party royalties.

Sony will more than offset these losses. Sony is in it for about 10 years, while Nintendo is it that in 4 or 5 years.

Sony has lost a lot of money by selling the PSX and PS2, but it more than up for it with many third games.

Like everyone says on the boards Playstation, Sony always think long term in their console on the market. Of course Sony will return only 3 billion dollars.

Wow could not be more right about Sony thinking long term. Heck, the Japanese generally believe that in the long term.

dam i asked if this means higher prices for both systems

From what I think there were about a console that has not been sold at a loss to begin with - Wii.
It is common practice to sell consoles at a loss and make profits on the backs of games, etc.
MS and Sony know they can make these losses to the minute because they can recover profits, or further down the line or elsewhere (eg, Sony may lose money on a PS3, but if the client decides also to upgrade their televisions, takes maybe a few Blu-ray, etc..)

Ninety managed to hit a vibe and went for something different to the standard (they had, the Gamecube was such a flop). If she had returned cons, they may not have the resources necessary to finance a more powerful console and has been forced to make a "Sega".

Fun is a big part of the game, but it moves along the technology will always, be better graphics, high-speed motion detection, etc., and they cost money to research and development.
There are only so many times Ninety can sell the public a gamecube with a new controller ....

The title of your question is wishful thinking, or bad media spin better. Lose money on console hardware is not failure, it is the marketing strategy. The PS3 is destined for a career of 10 years, and Sony's strategy was as follows:

1) copy of the PS3 at a loss to saturate the market and catch up with Xbox

2) manufacture and sell tons (and tons and tons) of games for the millions of console owners created by step 1. Yes, it's worth over 3 billion, particularly over 10 years.

Sony has decided on this strategy, well before the PS3 started production. In fact they used the same strategy initially for the PS2. Microsoft has used for the original Xbox. It is a good strategy and it usually works. There are more than 10 million.
