Digital Camera Battery Tips Tips to save battery
Are you always running out of battery just before taking the perfect picture with your digital camera? Some
Tips to save your batteries when you're out "snapping away".
1) Turn off your digital camera when not in use. If you're in a situation where you have to take pictures quickly, this may not
applicable to transform digital cameras and take off a few seconds, and can make you miss a shooting opportunity.
However, if you take a walk and can afford a few seconds before snapping a still subject, by all
resources, conserve energy in your digital camera!
2) Many digital cameras have a regular viewfinder and an LCD viewfinder. While the digital LCD viewfinder has its benefits
it can discharge the battery. Turn if necessary and use your regular viewfinder for taking photos.
3) Do not stop after taking every photo and look at the image in playback mode of your digital camera. Admittedly, it may
need to look at photos immediately after shooting them to make sure that your exposure is correct, the lighting is OK,
etc., but it does use up the battery of your digital camera.
4) If you are using MicroDrive media, be aware that these miniature hard drives may take up to quite more
Compact Flash cards.
Take care of you new battery
Normally, a new battery comes in a very low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. Refer to the user
manual of your portable electronic equipment for charging instructions. A new battery must be fully charged and
fully discharged or "bicycle" as much as five times the state to enable them to perform at full capacity. Your equipment can
Report a full charge of the state of only 10-15 minutes when the new battery is charging for the first
time. This is a normal phenomenon especially for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) chemistries. When
In this case, remove the battery pack and let it cool
about fifteen minutes, then repeat the charging procedure. "Conditioning" (fully discharge and fully charge)
is necessary to maintain optimal performance of the battery, and it is recommended at least once a month
particularly for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH. Failure to do so could lead to a reduced charge capacity and can significantly
shorten the battery lifetime. Lithium-ion batteries do not require air conditioning. It is normal for a battery
warm during charging and during use. However, if the battery becomes hot too, this could be a problem with the
portable electronic devices charging circuit and should be verified by a qualified technician. Rechargeable
undergo a battery self-discharge when left unused for long periods of time. This is normal particularly in the case of Ni-
MH and Li-ion chemical. For best results, store your battery fully charged. It should be removed from the
equipment and stored in a cool, dry and clean. The amount of the performance of a product depends on battery power
requirements of components in your electronic equipment.
Do not leave batteries under-charged you from taking good photos.
