White Sweater Vest

I have a wedding to go to the mountains of Colorado this weekend and I want to wear something that will keep me warm enough.

My plan is for the black pants with a black shirt with a white sweater vest that. The possible tie white will be mostly hidden by the jacket? Is this allowed? What does everyone think?
